Another way to give

Send goods, not money

Some of what these women need is a thing, not a sum. A sewing machine. A freezer. A box of school books. If you would rather send an item than a card payment, here is where it goes.

Please tell us what is coming before you post it, using the form below. It lets us tell you what is most needed right now, and means nothing arrives that we cannot use or ship on.

What actually helps

  • Sewing and tailoring

Machines, treadle or electric. Fabric, thread, scissors, patterns.

  • Hair and beauty

Dryers, clippers, unopened product, a full starter kit.

  • Trade equipment

Grinding machines, deep freezers, generators, weighing scales.

  • School

Exercise books, pens, uniforms, backpacks, unopened stationery.

  • Clothing

Clean, wearable adult and children's clothing. Nothing torn or stained.

  • Technology

Working phones and laptops, wiped, with chargers.

Please do not send

Food or anything perishable, medicines, or worn-out clothing. Shipping something to Nigeria that then has to be thrown away costs us more than it gives.

One thing worth knowing

Goods posted to the US address are consolidated and shipped on to Abuja, and freight and customs are real costs. For light, low-value items a card gift very often does more good per pound spent than the same money spent on postage. For equipment, sending the thing itself is usually the better deal. If you are unsure which yours is, ask us — we will tell you honestly.

Tell us what you are sending

No money is taken here and nothing is committed. Someone will write to you.
